Can you do something about the time limit for editing posts? It's annoying to get the "you cannot make another post this soon" warning when trying to correct a spelling error. I don't run into this problem on other phpBB boards. |

Well, I'll admit to having cursed on more than one occasion while waiting what seemed to be an eternity to correct some imbecilic error on a fast-moving thread.
This is a security feature designed (as I understand it) to prevent a spam-bot which might get loose on the site from posting 1000 times in two minutes. That said, we do have the ability to adjust that "clock." I defer to Mike's expertise in all matters involving board security; however, it may be possible to adjust the time limit to reach a more happy medium between reasonable protection and user convenience. |

Mark's absolutely correct. You might remember a couple of years back when a spam bot accidentally got through and started flooding the board with offensive porn pictures - this was a measure to deter bots such as that. Still, since our security now includes additional measures to deter bots from registering, I've decreased the timer to 15 seconds. |
